Costume Files for download
Today I realized that my Parallel Illusion is the peftect character to try out the "supertailor" functionality. So I earned him his second costume slot, and made a female form. While I was in there, I saved costume files of the standard costumes for all three forms (as described a few posts down in this community). I figured I'd share them on the off-chance they might save somebody some time. So here they are: Female Male Huge | | Friday, June 15th, 2007 | 12:58 pm [saintnicster]

Do we want to try to get together a PI team sometime this weekend? Mine is lvl 22, and it might be nice to get him a bit higher, easily. I figure it would be fun, esp since we tended to go "at the speed of DAMN!" | | Saturday, April 21st, 2007 | 1:36 pm [syrusb]

Important thoughts!
So since I just went and updated the creation guidelines, I figured I should go ahead and bring up something else. The Parallel Illusion Supergroup is damn near or full. This is very cool, except for one thing. ~90% of the PIs are not active. We have lots of folks that haven't logged in a year or more. Hey that's cool; themed SGs come and go. A lot of us shot up to 30 the first month we were active! Then something else shiny comes along and you want to play that instead. Or people quit the game. Or it was just fun for a few levels. In any case, this is bad news for newbies. Every once in a while we get someone who wants to join; I dunno how difficult it is to find a name now, so I have a suggestion. If you've given up on your Parallel, please delete them and free up the name. With 64 permutations of the name there should be plenty of room for people to play around, but indeed there is a limit to be reached over time. [x-posted to city_of_heroes] | 1:31 pm [syrusb]

Updated Creation Guidelines
So times have changed and so has the costume creator. Lots of tweaks and additions since issue 5 when the Parallels got started, and a few of the players have asked for an updated costume guide. Can do! Your PI can be either Female, Male or Huge, but do not mess with the body/face sliders/scales in any way. Since they're standard to all bodies, I'm going to cover the Aura and Cape first. Aura+Cape for the 40+s.Aura: Glowing Aura+color: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in Back Detail: Half MantleBrooch: Brooch 9+color 1: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in +color 2: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in Cape: Long Cape, Sharp+Exterior Cape color 1: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in +Exterior Cape color 2: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in +Interior Cape color 1: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in +Interior Cape color 2: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in Male body:Head: Full MasksFace: Mask Full 1, None +color: 6th row up, right side 3rd color in Upper body: TightChest: Tights Muscular, Sharp +color 1: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in +color 2: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in No Shoulder options. No Chest detail. Gloves: Smooth/Bare, Shiny Leather, None+color: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in Belt: Cloth+color: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in Lower Body: TightPants: Tights, Sharp +color 1: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in +color 2: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in Boots: Smooth, Shiny Leather, None+color: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in Huge bodyGuidelines are the same, EXCEPT: Upper body: TightChest: Tights Muscular, NONE +color 1: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in (Huge body does not use the Sharp pattern on the chest.) Female bodyGuidelines are the same, but lower body is labled differently. Lower Body: BottomsBottom: Tights, Sharp +color 1: 6th row up, from right side 2nd color in +color 2: 6th row up, from right side 3rd color in That should cover you as far as getting your PI created! --- Additionally: Your Parallel may be any of the 5 standard ATs (no Khelds), any Origin, and any power set. Your bio should read: One of Many Choose 'The' as your title at creation. Do not wear any badges or additional titles. And here is the chat bind for PI team talk: /bind ctrl+enter beginchat "[yournamehere] " Sometimes in team the bind is modified on the fly to show your team number for buffs/tp/etc: /bind ctrl+enter beginchat "[yournamehere: PI #3] " or just /bind ctrl+enter beginchat "[PI #4] " You can also do /bind key "beginchat /sg [name] " for Supergroup talk. | | Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 | 3:28 pm [kellzilla]

"Rescuer" Unlocks Mr. Yin
My PI has gone through the Faultline arc up to the Rescue Mr. Yin mission. This mission gives you the Rescuer badge, and opens up the lowbie SO shop/contact (Mr. Yin) there in Faultline. (Origin-specific SOs of level 13, 17, and 21. Magic origin gets accuracy SOs. I AM SO HAPPY!!!!) Anyway, I am opening up the floor to any PI who still needs it. If we don't get an eight-man PI team, I will open it up to the rest of LJ's triumph users. If we still don't get an eight-man team, I'll open it up to the Triumph badge channel, but I have no idea what channel that is. :D I can't do it tomorrow, or during the day for the rest of the week, but Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evenings/nights are good for me. | | Monday, January 29th, 2007 | 2:46 pm [saintnicster]

First off, let me say that I had a blast this weekend teaming with the PIs :) It was insane how we were able to blaze through things! I've found that my PI (CL16, Illusion/Kinetics) is a bit hard to solo. I'm chalking that one up to my complete and utter inexperience with controllers of any level ;) I'm looking to use a vetspec on him (since I hadn't really planned anything out and gained 6ish levels this weekend) and thought I'd pass it by you guys for a bit of help. I'm also trying out a new Online Build Planner that I found from the boards My current buildStill have everything slotted with TOs, hence the tons of ACCs; slotted Flash with 3 hoping it when I was MISS!ing entire groups (granted, this was when I was facing +3s and higher with the group). Overall, i feel as slow as molasses on a cold day when I try to solo. I also have been easily bottoming out my END very easily. Possible BuildTrying to make this a bit more of a solo-friendly build, since that's how I usually end up playing. I figure it'll get a bit better/easier? once my brethren join me (pick up PA ;P). Also still want to be fairly valuable as a team player once ID and SB come along. Looking to slot with mainly DOs and possibly some of Mr Yin's Magic Talismans (I think magic origins have damage?) Any power/slotting suggestions are greatly appriciated :) EDIT: whoops, both were pointing to the same build >_>;; | 3:06 pm [syrusb]

Fellow Decoys!
Thanks to some great help, my Parallel Illusion, the Energy/Elec blapper, hit level 37 and I was able to respec him. You can all praise and sigh with relief, as I have given up the idea of being a melee blapper with him, and won't knock mobs around with Thunderstrike quite so much any more. Tho' I still have it and Lightning Clap, they'll be used more sparingly, while I fight from outside melee with a regular chain of blasts. But woe to those who would get too close, for I still have potent melee tools! I also have Aid Self instead of the Fighting pool. :] I can still be your favourite aggro gathering blaster (Lightning Field, anyone?), but I will be more sturdy than before, even sans the Fight pool. | | Saturday, January 27th, 2007 | 10:23 am [culturalvacuum]

Leveling at the Speed of DAMN!
Last night's Fish Fri turned out to be a good time, even if it did take us a surprisingly long time to get sorted into teams, and it made me think that it would be great to try to fit in two or three hours of Parallel Illusion-ing in this already jam-packed weekend. Obviously everyone has their own priorities and plans, but adding a level or two on to my Level 42 PI was already on my list, and hopefully others have some interest in advancing their Illusions as well. My suggestion is that rather than a formal event with a specific start-time and location, everyone just try to find some available time on Sunday afternoon to join whatever teams manage to show up. I'll commit to being on with my 42 Dark/Inv scrapper from at least 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. EST, and as folks come on we can put teams and SKs together in order to get a couple of groups (or more!) rolling at the speed of DAMN! If we manage to get more than ten or so of us on, we can definitely convene in Atlas Park or elsewhere to show off for the crowds a bit. If you're interested, or if you have suggestions for a better time (or a specific activity to engage in), leave a reply. I'll also be mentioning this repeatedly in the LJ channel, so get ready to tell me to shut up about it. If there's enough interest (expressed in the channel or on this thread), we can do a little bit more formal planning, but I think it's about time we got a big group of PIs out in public again, and this is the perfect opportunity for doing it. Hope you'll be interested in joining me! What: Parallel Illusion Double XP Team-Up When: Sunday, 1 p.m. - ??? EST Where: Wherever the missions are, depending on who shows up. So, we only have a few days before the winter event ends. Are there any other PIs out there who want to spend some time getting the event badges as a group? Or heck, anyone up for weirding out other players as we just ski around the Chalet? I'm pretty much free for it any night but tonight (as I already have to decide between 2 SG events this evening). | | Monday, October 30th, 2006 | 2:30 pm [syrusb]

A Decoy's Halloween
Let's get together as a group (or two!) and Trick or Treat! I know this is a bit short notice.. but I figure by now all your main(s) and alt(s) have gotten their salvage and badges (more or less), so let's make it a mini-Parallel Illusion event. This evening, around 7pm EDT to get started? I imagine we can ToT in Bricks with enough of the level 30-some PIs to SK up (ahem and exemplar down...), and stomp some monsters while we're at it. Or we can start a bit later, 8 or 9? Drop a line! Say something! Let's go confuse the Halloween masses! x-posted to city_of_heroes | | Saturday, September 30th, 2006 | 1:23 pm [buddhabear]

PI related stuff
Hi gang, I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been dropping off enhancements I can't use in our storage bin. I've also been dropping off the bigger inspirations too. They'd be great for those in a rough spot during a TF or fighting that nasty EB or AV, or whatever else may arise. The bins are filling up, so they're up for grabs for those in need. I have a request to make to the two or three of you that are still highest rank. Could you log on and raise me back up? I'd appreciate it. I was auto demoted during a hiatus. I plan on being active enough that the system won't auto demote me again. I'm usually on most evenings eastern time. To the PI that built our base: what do we need to create another teleporter? I'd like to create one to Crey's Folly(can't think of a second location at the moment). Finally, I'd like to see more of you log back on. It's getting lonely here. If anyone needs a partner to team up with, I'm always ok with sidekicking or exemplaring. Lets all get active again. With the Halloween events coming up, we could have some fun. More on the PI Base... now with pictures! ( Interior Pictures )I didn't take pics of the Energy, Control, and Entrance rooms since they are still pretty much empty except for the needed energy and control items. Those items are just sort of thrown into the room to make things function. I'll do more with the rooms soon. We still need two more basic telepads to be built. We may have enough salvage for them in storage already, I haven't tried to make them. I'd prefer they be tech telepads, to match the rest of the base, but if we only have enough salvage to do arcane ones, they'll work just as well. | | Sunday, August 20th, 2006 | 2:48 pm [quasadu]

Base Building
Since we were sitting on about 3.5 million Prestige and our base consisted of an entry room only, I took the liberty of expanding it. I still want to play with the style and need to place decorations for flavor, but we now have at least the basic functions. I installed the following items: Tech ItemsBasic Reclimator Storage for Inspirations, Enhancements, and Salvage Empowerment Station Basic Worktable Advanced Worktable Basic Telepad with Beacons to Perez Park and Steel Canyon Energy and Control Items to run everything Arcane ItemsBasic Forge Empowerment Station I wanted to install three more telepads, and the room is there, I just didn't have enough salvage to create them. I dumped what salvage I did have into storage though, so if anyone else wants to build them that'd be great. Or you can dump your salvage into storage and I'll build them. Hope no one minds that I took it upon myself to do this, but I figured it was ok since the base hasn't been touched all this time. ETA: Also, as a speedster, I am limited in my badge hunting ability. If anyone else would like to run about and grab more zone beacons that would be great, too. I'd like to install a Talos beacon since that zone has acess to so many others. | | Thursday, July 6th, 2006 | 3:42 pm [quasadu]

CGT Supergroup Page
I've set up a supergroup page at City Game Tracker for both the PI's and II's (even though it looks like most of the CGT users here haven't logged on their Illusions since before they added the SG feature). Also, I heard through the grapevine that we've got Parallel Illusions on Pinnacle. Is that true? If so, is the SG set up? I made up an alt PI there, so if an SG there exists I'd be grateful for an invite. | | Wednesday, May 24th, 2006 | 1:14 pm [quasadu]

Okay folks, since there was plenty of positive response to my previous post, I thought I'd post a follow up. I've just created my PI on test, levelled to 40, and created the SG. Once you are ready, send me a /tell at @Quasadu or ParaLLei Liiusion and I'll invite you. Our "official" time for this thing is 9pm est, but I'll probably be in and out of test all day, and it takes a while to level to 40 and buy all your enhancements so the earlier you can log in, the better. I've also set up a Parallel Illusion Global Channel. Some suggestions to make things go smoothly: 1. Don't forget the original The creation guidelines. Note that with the costume changes in I7, for the face you now want "Mask Full 1 / None" instead of "Mask Full 1 / Mask 1." 2. Use the same spelling for your test PI that you used for your Triumph PI. Make a note of that spelling so I can sginvite you with it. 3. You can also global friend me (@Quasadu) to make things easier. Just send me a /tell first to let me know who you are. 4. Remember to use chat binds like /bind shift+s "/supergroup [Quasadu] " to make it easier to know who is who. 5. DON'T FORGET YOUR "The" in your name! (If you do forget at creation, make sure you pick it up when levelling up). See you all soon! | | Monday, May 22nd, 2006 | 4:51 pm [quasadu]

Recluses' Victory Event on Test
Welcome to Recluses’ Victory! We’re calling all heroes to help us fight back Lord Recluse and his minions, and prevent him from taking over Paragon City! This event will start May 24th at around 11:00 am Central and end on May 26th around 8:00 am Central. Original Forum Article They're going to temporarily wipe the test server, and characters created during this period will be autolevelled to 40 for the event. I thought it might be fun to set a day and time, say 9pm EST on Wednesday, May 24th, to recreate the Parallel Illusions and unleash them on Recluses' Victory. Valentine's Mish runs
Okay, since some people are 'Yes! Weekend is great for me!' And the rest seem to be 'Argh, what weekend?!' I propose two official runs, so everyone can get the badge (what who wants it). As I'm sure many have plans for the Valentine's Tuesday... Parallels and Illicits unite! Thursday Night, Feb 16th, 9:30pm ET (8:30 CT, 7:30 MT, 6:30 PT). (To give people time to get home and eat dinner.) Sunday Afternoon, Feb 19th (that's next weekend), 6pm ET, (5 CT, 4 MT, 3 PT). For those who may still not know about the assorted mishes, check my post here. | | Wednesday, February 8th, 2006 | 9:11 pm [syrusb]

Valentine's events!
So! Since several of the special Pocket D missions require the teaming of heroes and villains, how's about a night to get the Parallel's and Illicits together for badge goodness! I'll toss out the weekend (this or next) as a starting time to get together for the events, as weekends are often the best time for large group ventures. Could be lots of fun!
